This was Liverpool legend Ray Clemence’s final game for the club before he moved to
Tottenham. He was signed as an 18-year-old by Bill Shankly from Scunthorpe United in
1967 for a fee of £18,000 and went on to have a glittering career, winning three European
Cups, two UEFA Cups, five Division One titles, the FA Cup in 1974 and making it a Cup
double in 1981 with the League Cup.
