Collection: Coventry City

Founded in 1883 as Singers FC, named after a local cycle firm, the club became Coventry City in 1898 and was elected to the Football League after World War One. Probably its finest hour (or 120 minutes) was the 1987 FA Cup Final in which the Sky Blues defeated Tottenham 3-2 after extra-time, a game which veteran broadcaster John Motson has described as the finest he commentated on.
