Collection: Burnley

This was the final match of the 1959-60 season, played two days after the rest of the clubs in Division One had completed their fixtures. Burnley knew that only a victory would be enough to propel them from third spot to the top of the table and deny Wolverhampton Wanderers a third consecutive title. Goals from Brian Pilkington and Trevor Meredith gave the Clarets two points to secure the club's first League crown since 1921.
