West Ham United

Based in east London, West Ham United were founded as a professional team in 1900, having previously been known as Thames Ironworks. Until the start of the 2016-17 season, the 'Hammers' played home games at the Boleyn Ground (known to some fans as Upton Park, the name of the nearby underground station) but the club has now moved to the London Stadium in Stratford, previously the centrepiece of the 2012 Olympic Games.
