Local lad David Fairclough first rose to prominence during the 1975-76 season, scoring six goals from the substitute’s bench, including a superb solo strike to win the Merseyside derby at Anfield, as Liverpool secured their first League title under Bob Paisley, earning him the nickname ‘Supersub’. But he is most famous for his crucial goal in this 1977 European Cup quarter-final when the Reds faced elimination from the competition on the away goals rule before Fairclough slotted home the decider with just six minutes remaining.

Glossy white finish 10oz mug, dishwasher and microwave-safe, looks great on any desk in any home, office, kitchen, workshop, studio, factory or garden.
