In September, 1963, Colin Harvey famously made his debut for Everton in the European Cup at the San Siro stadium in Milan against Internazionale, aged just 18. He earned plaudits for his mature performance but, after a 0-0 draw in the first leg at Goodison, the Blues lost 1-0 to the Italian side on the night.
Though never a prolific goalscorer, Colin hit the winner for Everton in the 1966 FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United and was also on target when the team clinched the 1969-70 Division One title, rifling the ball home from twenty-five yards.
After a brief spell at Sheffield Wednesday, he returned to the club in a coaching capacity and, together with Howard Kendall, was a key component of the club's success in the 1980s, succeeding Kendall as boss in 1987.
