After winning the title in 1995, Blackburn Rovers' fortunes took a turn for the worse and the club was relegated in 1999. Under manager Graeme Souness, Rovers won promotion back to the top flight in 2001 and the following season won the Worthington Cup at the Millennium Stadium after a 2-1 win over Tottenham.
