Tottenham's success in Division One during season 1960-61 was in part due to a blistering start in which they won 15 of their first 16 games and drew the other! This victory over nearest challengers Sheffield Wednesday confirmed the club as champions and victory over Leicester in the FA Cup Final ensured they became the first team in the modern era to win the Double, a feat only previously achieved by Aston Villa in 1897.
