When Bill Shankly was appointed manager of Liverpool in December 1959, Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan were already on the coaching staff and the new boss told them he would not be bringing in his own backroom team but would be working with them. It is Joe Fagan who is credited with the creation of the famous Boot Room where the coaching staff would have daily meetings to discuss all aspects of the club.

When Shankly retired in 1974, Paisley took up the reins and achieved an astonishing level of success until he stepped down at the end of the 1982-83 season. Joe Fagan became the new boss and in his first campaign won the unique treble of European Cup, League title and League Cup but the following season the club endured a trophy drought and Fagan decided to retire, being replaced by Kenny Dalglish.

Glossy white finish 10oz mug, dishwasher and microwave-safe, looks great on any desk in any home, office, kitchen, workshop, studio, factory or garden.
