Kevin Keegan signed for Liverpool in 1971 for a fee of £35,000 and developed into the best player in the country, initially under manager Bill Shankly then Bob Paisley. In his last match for the Reds before joining German side Hamburg, 'King Kevin' was instrumental in helping his side win the European Cup and his successor at Anfield 'King Kenny' Dalglish played a key part twelve months later as Liverpool retained the trophy after beating Bruges in the final at Wembley Stadium.
