1985 v Rapid Vienna

The Final was completely dominated by Everton who enjoyed a fully deserved 2-0 lead when Hans Krankl briefly pulled one back to threaten an unlikely comeback for the Austrian outfit. But Kevin Sheedy swiftly restored Everton’s two-goal advantage and the Blues claimed their first European crown and looked set for more continental success in future years. Sadly, the Heysel disaster just a few days later was to deny them the opportunity.
